Performer's Application Form

Performers are welcome to apply for a 2008 Festival gig up to 30th June, 2008. The application is a three page process:
Page 1: Read and agree to the Performers Policy: Terms And Conditions of Tablelands Folk Festival Assn. Inc. Please print a copy for your reference.
Page 2: At the bottom of the Policy page, click the "I agree" button, you'll be taken to the "choose form page" where you may choose to complete your application online or, you may prefer to printout, fill in and mail off the form.
Page 3: Complete the form, upload or mail us a digital image on CD, or mail a performance DVD of your act, and send off the form.

Terms And Conditions
Names
1. The Tableland Folk Festival Association Incorporated (TFF), is the managing body of the Yungaburra Folk Festival, here in called;
the YFF, or the Festival.
2. All the Performers in a named Presentation or Act which is included in, and contracted to, the program of the YFF, are here in called;
the Performer.

Liabilities
1. The Performer acknowledges that they are a contractor of the YFF and not an employee.
2. The signatory Performer agrees to the contract on behalf of all members of the Act involved in a performance and, takes responsibility to ensure all Performers under the Act name understand and agree to the contract. The signatory Performer accepts legal responsibility for not doing so.
3. The Performer understands that all insurance, any tax relating to income earned, Workcover liabilities, and loss or theft of property, shall be the responsibility of the Performer and not the YFF. The YFF shall not be responsible for further claims of a professional or personal nature.
4. The Performer agrees to have their own current public liability insurance. The Performer recognises that the public liability insurance currently held by the YFF does not cover actions caused directly or indirectly by the Performer.
5. The Performer waivers any liability on the part of the YFF with regard to Performers' property loss or damage whilst involved with the Yungaburra Folk Festival.
6. The Performer agrees to waiver any liability on the part of the YFF with regard to personal injury or death whilst involved with the Yungaburra Folk Festival.

Stage
1. Performers need to arrive at their presentation at least 15 minutes prior to the performance to introduce yourself to the Stage Manager, Sound Tech & MC and to familiarise yourself with the venue and stage.
2. All stages are equipped with lighting, PA system/fold back with standard backline & Engineers, the Performer does not need to bring their own sound crew. Any technical assistants included in your act must also be introduced to Stage Manager, at least 15 minutes prior to the performance.
3. The YFF provides an instrument lock-up for Performers located at the back/side stage in the Community Hall. The Performer understands that the YFF holds no responsibility for instrument loss, theft or damage whilst stored in that lock up. See the sound technician or stage manager on duty for access.

Payment
1. All Performer fees have been negotiated including any GST, We will not add on GST or change your fee after the contract is signed.
2. The Performer understands that no payment will be made without having completed and returned your APRA forms.
3. The YFF is not liable for any compensation to Performers in the event the Yungaburra Folk Festival is cancelled or postponed.
4. The Performer agrees to provide an Invoice before receiving their payment by cheque. Cash payments to Performers are not possible unless by prior arrangement & authorisation by TFF committee.
5. Performer's payments will be made from the Festival Admin Office at the festival after 2pm Sunday afternoon. If earlier payment is required please advise us prior to the festival.

Tickets
1. Performers may not request complimentary entourage tickets from YFF volunteers upon arrival.
2. Performers receive a ticket to allow access for the part &/or day of the festival in which they perform. You may not automatically get a full weekend ticket. Tickets allocated for your Act will be included in the contract.
3. Only the Performers with full names listed on your application form will be considered for tickets. Any changes to those names must be notified immediately.
4. Spousal/partner tickets for Performers must be arranged in conjunction with the contract, or by prior committee approval.
5. There are no complimentary or concessional tickets.
6. There may be Volunteer tickets for people who can give some of their time.(see Volunteer Policy) Other festival goers in your party will have to buy a ticket. Discount tickets are available through Ticket Link from July 1st on 07 4031 9555
7. Tickets can be purchased from sunset Friday at the Festival Ticket Office at the festival. (Cash or credit card. No Eftpos facilities available)

Merchandising
1. The Performer understands and agrees that sales of CD's and all other merchandise will be only permitted through the Festival Shop at a commission of 20% of the grossed up GST inclusive price.
2. You will be provided with an Invoice, for the 20% commission.(see GST)
3. Side stage sales in our venues will not be permissible. It is too clumsy given our boutique venues, and hence appears unprofessional.
4. We encourage 'CD Signing Sessions' at our festival shop, Arrange it with the festival shop and ask your MC to promote the time you will be at the shop, before & after your gig.

GST
1. We do have an ABN: 89 320 902 310 however, GST is not applicable.
2. The Tablelands Folk Festival Inc. t/as YFF is not registered to report or charge GST, therefore YFF does not charge GST on any sale nor is GST included in any other monies paid to YFF.
3. There is no GST included in merchandising commission payments to Performers.

Travel
1. All travel costs must be arranged, booked and/or paid for by you the performer. No additional reimbursement considered other than stated in your contract.

Transfers
We offer shuttle transfers from Cairns Airport to Yungaburra & back, on Thursday & Friday prior to festival 'til 4pm, and Monday morning. Outside these days/times, you will need to negotiate special arrangements. If you need this service, fill in and return the Shuttle Transfer Form CLICK HERE to download, details required are:
1. Which airline,
2. Flight number,
3. Arrival and/or Departure times,
4. Number of people in your party and what extra equipment to collect. We estimate one suitcase & one guitar sized instrument per Performer.

2. Please provide us with all details by September 30th. If there are any changes to your itinerary after that date ensure that we are immediately notified.

Accommodation
1. We have limited local accommodation available. Performers with accommodation as part of their contract will often be required to twin share a room with other Performers. Those who wish to bring partners etc. will need to organize alternative accommodation. Inform us asap and we will endeavour to help with a billet. However, we cannot guarantee non-performer accommodation.

Meals
1. The YFF does not agree to providing Performers meals. There are festival food stalls, as well as about a dozen local restaurants/food outlets, of varying tastes all of which are very good, (3, 4 & 5 star). All are walking distance. Bookings may be necessary and some don't have Eftpos. The local Foodmarket has a gourmet product range. Check out the food guide in the festival program.

Camping
1. Performers will not be charged for camping. You will receive a camping pass when you 'check in'. Please note; We supply a campsite only. We do not provide any camping equipment. Performers must BYO tent & sleeping gear & all other camping requirements. We do provide an instrument lock up for camping Performers. The Camping area is two hundred metres walk away.

Smoking/Alcohol/Drugs
1. Under Qld. Law, all Venues are non smoking, and the YFF promotes a non smoking policy in all areas. The YFF requests that you enjoy your cigarettes in designated smoking areas and away from children's or youth festival events.
2. The YFF acknowledges and advises that under Qld. law, you can be arrested for drinking alcohol in a public place (footpath, street & park), & that it is an offence.
3. The YFF does not permit or condone the use of any illegal drugs in any venue or area designated as the Yungaburra Folk Festival.
